This beautiful statue of Our Lady - Mary the Mother of God is found in the courtyard outside the church. In May - 'the month of Mary' there is a traditional service, crowning the statue with a garland of flowers.

Mary is standing on a globe, as the Queen of Heaven and Earth. Her foot is crushing the head of a serpent to symbolise that satan and his followers are helpless before her...'The Ark of the New Covenant' of whom was born the Saviour, Jesus Christ.
